Skipper. Often confused with moths, these are actually classed as butterflies.

Speckled Wood - Pararge aegeria. These are easily found underneath the tree canopy sitting in shafts of sunlight.

Gatekeeper - Pyronia tithonus - female. So called because they often set up territory around field entrances, especially where there are bramble bushes.


Common Lizard - Zootoca vivipara (formerly Lacerta vivipara), sunbathing in the branches of a gorse bush. These lizards give birth to live young.

Spider. Possibly an Enoplognatha ovata.

Cosmos flower.

Gazania flower.

Mallard ducks.

More ducks. Two mallard drakes and two tufted duck hens.
